About me

Prof. Einat Peled is a full professor at the School of Social Work and a critical researcher in the field of gender in social work. Her research and writing focus on understanding the ways in which gendered concepts shape the experiences and identities of men and women in situations of violence and social marginalization—especially domestic violence, motherhood in marginalized situations, and sex trade. Another key aspect of her research is the development and evaluation of intervention in these areas, in collaboration with the professionals involved in them

Books

Girls and their Bodies: Voice, Presence, Absence, is the first book in Hebrew in the field of girlhood studies, to examine the lives of Israeli girls from a critical inter-sectional gendered perspective. The book enriches the academic discourse and professional knowledge about girls and expand the possibilities of social action with and for them

The books describe pioneering group intervention programs focusing on the fathering of violent men and the mothering of women abused by their partner. The programs were developed on the basis of systematic research and in collaboration with the centers for the prevention of violence in Israel and have been operating in the centers for decades
